Voice Aerobics for Parkinson’s

Mary DVD smallHas Parkinson’s affected your voice? I just worked out to Mary Spremulli’s Voice Aerobics DVD.  Mary has been a voice therapist for over 25 years and has developed voice and movement exercises specifically for people with Parkinson’s disease.  The DVD was wonderful.

Parkinson’s not only affects muscles and movement, but frequently the voice as well.  One of the first things that my neurologist said about exercising if you have Parkinson’s disease is, “If you don’t use it you’ll lose it.”  That should be motivation enough, but sometimes motivating yourself to exercise is hard.

Mary’s stretching and movement, along with the voice exercises were easy and invigorating.  By the time I was done the session my voice felt stronger and I was moving more normally than when I started.

I’m excited about continuing this on a regular basis and making my every day movements more normal.

If you are looking for something that is a light workout that anyone can do, and that actually produces results this is for you.  Check out her web site at http://voiceaerobicsdvd.com.

Rich, I love this CD. I really enjoy doing my voice exercises with Voice Aerobics and Mary’s Songbird CD. I’ve used them in support group meeting and people don’t realize that they are actually getting therapy.
